Winners - Challenge#41 - Theme

Good morning all! I hope that you all enjoyed the Olympics as much as I did. Here in the US coverage of the games was provided by NBC - it wasn't at all bad. We saw amazing medal achievements from men and women the world over. Our theme was Olympics/Sports and we had some fabulous interpretations. Voting was tough and we ended up with Joint Winners.

JOINT WINNERS

We really like the way the Olympic rings were incorporated into this card, with the black ring as the cycle wheel!
Love the cycling theme too - great work.

A brilliant interpretation of the Olympic rings with a 3D dream catcher mobile.
Silhouette representations of various sports, along with gold, silver and bronze embossed circles.
Fabulous work!

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

We love the circular shape of the card. Great image and beautifully coloured.
Fabulous take on the theme!

A really great scrapbook page - super photo!
Love the brick texture and cycling is one of the most popular Olympic sports.

Another project using cycling as the sporting theme.
Love the texture and use of the Olympic rings!

Congratulations to all our winners - please pick up your badge from the sidebar and display it on your blog. Thanks to all who playing along with this theme - the thumbnail display was super!

Before I go, a quick reminder that we have a technique challenge. We want you to create some background papers using the SHAVING FOAM technique - TMR#42. How you use the paper you create is up to you - it can simply be a background, or you can die cut it to use. Whatever you do - have fun.

You still have a week to play along with us - deadline for submission is midnight (BST) Tuesday 30th August (that's 7.00pm EDT).

Challenge #42 - Technique

Morning! We're well into summer and over half-way through the holidays and it's time for our new challenge here at The Male Room - TMR#42. We have a really fun technique for you - use SHAVING FOAM to create backgrounds for your projects.

It's a simple, and messy, technique and one that is fun too. If you want to get your children involved, it's easy to learn. There are a few videos at the end of this post showing the technique. You can use reinkers, food colouring, acrylic paints, alcohol inks, anything with colour and make sure you get plain simple shaving foam to use. Just remember that your finished project must have a masculine feel.

Here are some examples from our design team:

Winners - Challenge#40 - Colours

Oops! I've done it again and am rather late with the winners from our Colour challenge #40. It's summer and like many of you, I've been away for a few days and only just got the chance to do this post. The thumbnail display for our colour challenge was really bold and bright with lots of red and blue and splashes of, mostly, yellow and green. It was tough, but we've picked our winners.

Love the sentiment stamps too. And it moves as well!

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Congratulations to you all.  These are superb. Please pick up your badges from the sidebar and display them on your blogs.

Before I go, a quick reminder of our current challenge. Our theme is OLYMPICS/SPORTS - which really does give so many possibilities.

As I type this post (8.30pm, 11th August) USA top the medals table with a total of 35 medals, 13 of them being gold. I am, however, delighted to report that Great Britain have moved up the table and now in 8th with a total of 16 medals, 4 of them gold. I hope you're enjoying the games.  Here's a link to the Medal's table at the BBC website.

Challenge #41 - Theme

Hello! We have a theme challenge for the next couple of weeks - you won't be surprised to see that our theme is - THE OLYMPICS/SPORTS - TMR#41. This really should give you lots of options as there are all sorts of sports played at the Olympics, or you can look at the history of the games right back to Greek times, or even the cities that have hosted the games. Just explain your take; if it's not obvious. Remember, you can make any type of paper craft projects - ATC, 3D, card, scrapbook layout, canvas, mixed media, art journal page - it just has to follow the theme and be masculine! Have fun!
